Globalization and the War on Terror
The IMF has been captured by ideological conservatives says Joseph Stiglitz.

Joseph Stiglitz, winner of the 2001 Nobel Prize in Economics, who once worked at the World Bank and is now at Columbia University has written a book called Globalization and Its Discontents. In it he addresses issues that should be part of the discussion as this administration commits itself to an unending war on terrorism. (What a sad thought, "unending war"....)

While at the World Bank Stiglitz saw first hand how the International Monetary Fund acted in ways detrimental to sustainable economic life in developing countries because it promulgates a form of market economics abroad that is not even acceptable within the United States.

Stiglitz directs a policy planning center at Columbia University in New York called the Initiative for Policy Dialogue. More information on his work is available there.
