The Purpose Motive is More Important than Profit Motive for Human Being
An animated presentation on the results of scientific studies of human motivation reveals some surprises for those who believe traditional economic assumptions.
Traditional economic thinking assumes people are motivated by money, that they work for money, that the more money they are paid the more and better work they perform. There is one little problem with this idea, it isn't true, at least when it comes to work involving any cognitive ability.
Below is an adaptation of a talk by Dan Pink of The RSA which reviews some science on motivation.
