Topic: Responsible Development
Poisoned Waters, Chicken Shit and Smart Growth
4/21/2009 10:54:38 PM An outstanding documentary on Frontline of PBS aired this evening called Poisoned Waters on Chesapeake Bay and the Puget Sound. Hedrick Smith does the reporting. Chicken factories around Chesapeake Bay are causing a great deal of the pollution of that body of water. Smart growth in the Washington D.C. metro area is lifted up as one solution. Ron Sims of King County, where Seattle is located, is featured for supporting limits on rural residential growth so that development does less damage to the Puget Sound. After watching this program I got an email about a website dedicated to a call to boycott sponsors at the Fox News network which systematically opposes concerns for global warming and the environment. I strongly encourage readers to take advantage of the opportunity to do so. See This Blog |
